The artist’s Airedale Terrier dog, Tess, sits in front of a clump of trees along a path in the middle of a wood near Beaminster, West Dorset close to where he lives.
Afternoon sunlight and shadows exude from all parts of this ancient wood.
Amongst these noble trees discover Tess, a cock pheasant, a hen pheasant, a furtive badger, an inquisitive deer, a woodpecker, a nuthatch, a squirrel, a flighting-in pigeon, a vole and a foraging blackbird.
