HMS Belfast

Morning Glory

HMS Belfast sailing up Belfast Lough, early morning, in 1948

Originally built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast just before World War Two, HMS Belfast is shown coming home on an official visit to the City after a very active and illustrious wartime career especially escorting Russian convoys.
For instance, she played an important role during the Battle of North Cape and the D-Day Normandy bombardments.
